Top celebrity wedding cars

Celebrity weddings are big business for the press. Getting that first crucial shot of the bride and groom has celebrity magazines fighting to publish the best photos before anyone else. Everyone is interested in who designed the brides dress, what the groom is wearing, where the ceremony is being held and who are the celebrity guests. The arrival of the bride has the paparazzi going crazy to get that first shot. This means that every celebrity bride and groom wants to arrive in style. Here we will go through the top 5 most popular wedding cars used by celebrities.

Rolls Royce Phantom

The Rolls Royce Phantom was first manufactured in 1925, the brand and are still producing luxury models to this very day. Classic models of the car are just as popular as the more recent sporty models. The Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe was most recently used in Kim Kardashian’s short lived wedding to Chris Humphries. However, one was not enough for this reality star, she infact hired a whole fleet of them to transport herself and the wedding party to the venue. It was also requested that all the cars were white to fit in with the colour theme for the day. The convoy of white cars certainly made the headlines the next day.

Kate Middleton took a more classic approach and also used a Rolls Royce Phantom when arriving at Westminster Abbey for her wedding to Prince William. Although she went for the more quintessentially British 1977 Rolls Royce Phantom VI, of which only 18 were made for various heads of state around the world.

Bentley

Another British maker of luxury cars is Bentley Motors Ltd who have been producing cars since 1919. Not one to be upstaged by the bride, Prince William chose to arrive at Westminster Abbey in a Bentley. This was not just any Bentley, this is one is owned by the Queen otherwise known as the Bentley State Limousine. Only two of these vehicles were ever made making it one of the rarest cars in the world. The car boasts a royal crest and is painted in the royal colours of claret and black. Bentleys are a popular choice for brides who want to feel like a celebrity for the day. More modern Bentleys include the Bentley Continental model which is a popular choice for weddings.

Aston Martin

Keeping on the subject of the royal wedding, Kate and William chose to leave their afternoon wedding reception in an Aston Martin. Again this was not just any Aston Martin but a 1969 edition belonging to Williams father, Prince Charles, which he received for his 21st birthday. There is a vast array of luxurious and sporty models available for weddings from this British luxury car brand. The car is probably best known for its appearances in a number of James Bond movies. From the classic Aston Martin DB5 to the modern Aston Martin Vantage this luxury brand can really turn heads at the most high profile celebrity weddings.

Horse Drawn Carriage

The paparazzi had a field day when Katie Price arrived at her wedding to Peter Andre in a Cinderella style horse drawn princess carriage. The glass carriage was pulled by two white horses and looked like something straight out of a fairytale. Kate Middleton and Prince William also chose to use a horse drawn carriage for their journey from Westminster Abbey down the mall to Buckingham Palace. Princess Diana and Prince Charles also used a horse drawn carriage for their wedding. This makes it a firm favourite among royal weddings making the bride feel like a princess for the day.

Mercedes

This luxury car brand is hugely popular amongst celebrities. Jay Z and Beyonce are a huge fan of this luxury brand and have been photographed driving many different high end models. They even hired a customised Mercedes van to transport their new born daughter home from the hospital. With their own nuptials still shrouded in secrecy it could be suggested that the couple chose Mercedes as their wedding day car brand. With models such as the S400, the E350 and the sporty roadster celebrities have chosen this brand as a firm favourite for weddings.
