Samaritan’s Purse: Operation Christmas Child

Imagine being a child and waking up to no presents on Christmas morning. For most children this will be unlikely, but to some children it is an expected reality. For some children, without barely enough food to survive, a warm meal is a blessing. A warm bed is also not taken for granted. Waking up on Christmas morning to a gift would be almost unthought of.

California News - December 02, 2008You can teach your children the gift of giving and brighten up the life of a child by contributing to Samaritan’s Purse:  Operation Christmas Child program this holiday season. With a simple decorated shoebox and some child-friendly small items, you can turn a sad face into a joyous smile for a boy or girl that is not as fortunate as some. The details for this wonderful and warm holiday heart warmer are available at http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/.

Not only will you give another child hope in their small world, but you will also make an impact in the life of your own child by opening up their young eyes to children that are not as fortunate as they are. Their gift offering will help them to learn the very important quality of what it feels like to be generous to others. It will help them to learn that giving feels good and that they can make a difference in someone else’s life. Help your children to open their hearts to others this holiday season and learn the value in the verse from Acts 20:35, “it is more blessed to give than to receive.”
