5 Simple Steps to Save on Diapers and Formula

This guest post was written by Liz C. She posts hot deals, as well as promo codes and more all at her site over at MyCCFinder.com.

Whether you have a little one running around the house today, or maybe you plan on having a child, we all know that there is no way of getting around baby formula, as well as diapers. Unless you received a pallet full at your baby shower, or from a friend, you’re going to have no choice but to buy it on a weekly basis!

I wanted to give you five simple tips that my family uses, when it comes down to saving money. As long as you know what to look out for, you can save a ton of money.

#1 Buy the generic brands

The generic / store brands are all made by well known manufactures, but they use their own store logo. Since baby formula has to be FDA approved, you can be rest assured that your child is going to get all the nutrients that he/she needs, if you chose to use formula. This alone will save you at least 30% on average.

#2 Purchase online and use coupon codes

Highly consider purchasing your diapers online, as you can find some killer coupon codes to apply toward your purchase. For example, if you use a deals site such as SlickDeals.com, you can find coupon codes for diapers all the time. The other day, I saw one that allowed you to save 20% + $10 off your first purchase over at Diapers.com. This price was a lot cheaper than your local supermarket.

#3 Buy coupons online

You’re probably laughing right now, thinking “buy my coupons?” Yes, if you go to eBay and search for coupons, you’ll be amazed at what you can find. Moms across the world get coupons that they won’t use. Instead of tossing them, they will throw them up for a few cents. Pick up coupons such as Similac, and more. You can easily save $5+ off your next purchase.

#4 Be sure to sign up for newsletters

Companies like Similac and Huggies both have newsletters that you can sign up for. When you do, you’re going to get loads of coupons, as well as samples and more. It’s free to do, and you’re going to get plenty of cost saving opportunities. If you don’t like what you’re getting in your e-mail, you can always cancel!

#5 Buy in bulk

When my family first had our baby, we instantly signed up for a Costco membership. If you have a warehouse based store in your area, I would highly consider signing up for a membership. You will easily make up the price of the membership within weeks, if not the day that you sign up.

By following one of these five steps, you’re going to find that you can save a decent amount of money. Try them out, or let me know how you save, as a Mom, we all love to save money on just about everything imaginable!

  1. Buying in bulk and having coupons are 2 ways to save for milk and diapers. I did not have this during my first baby but I will surely find coupons and buy in bulk for my next baby. It’s a huge savings.
