How to look good after sleepless night

To say that the life of a mommy is demanding is an understatement. There are not enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished and a full night’s rest is something that most parents struggle to achieve. For many of us, a routine caffeine fix keeps us afloat, but looking rested is another story. However, there are tricks to make you look like you’ve had eight hours of sleep when you’ve only had five. Continue reading to discover what those steps are so you can ‘fake it ‘til you make it.’

Step 1

Before you start your morning routine, splash cold water on your face to not only ‘wake up’ your skin, but to also help constrict the blood vessels in the eyes to help reduce any puffiness that may be present.

Step 2

Put a soothing eye cream and two sliced cucumbers in the fridge for about 20 minutes. Place the cucumbers underneath your eyes for about 10 minutes while lying on two pillows. The cold sensation and your head being elevated are the tricks to further reducing eye puffiness.

Step 3

With your ring finger, apply a small dab of the refrigerated eye cream around your orbital bone (the part of your face between the highest part of your cheek bone and underneath your eyes). The ingredients in the eye cream should nourish and treat the eye area and once again, the cool sensation from refrigerating it will help cool and soothe the eye area and help alleviate eye puffiness.

Step 4

On clean skin, apply three tiny dots of under-eye concealer in one shade lighter than your skin tone—a dot on the outer, middle and inner corner of the under-eye area. Then with your ring fingers, blend in an outward motion and gently pat to ensure the concealer is blended in and “disappears” into the skin. This step will help conceal dark circles and “tired” eyes.

With these easy four steps, you’re on your way to sporting a faux rested face and a more beautiful you!
