Fashion Trends for Kids This Fall

What are kids wearing this fall?

Here is the lowdown on popular kid’s clothes for fall of 2010:

Girls can get away with wearing just about anything and becoming a fashion statement. Denim, as always is a big hit. This year will see the usual denim pants, jackets and skirts, but with embellishments, beads and fur. The low cut, but not too low cut, hip huggers are in, as well as a boot cut. The colors that seem to be popular are black or the deepest of blues. Dressing up as opposed to dressing down is in. Various fabric textures, bright colors, animal prints, plaids, embroidery, glimmer and glitz are all the rage! Plaids, mohair and khaki are being worn more this year.

Various colors in camo, such as blue, gray, orange, green and khaki, are a big hit this year. Boys are wearing more of a tailored cut in their pant selections and less baggy pants. Cargo pants for boys are still ever so popular.

Most kids want to be noticed. If your child’s fashion sense is a little over the top for you, do not panic. They are trying to make a statement and be “like the others” so that they will fit in. As long as their “style” is not revealing or totally inappropriate in other ways, let them go. They are likely to grow out of it eventually and move on to something else as they journey through life.
