As a mom I think it is very important to teach our children hobbies. Hobbies and crafts are a wonderful thing to pass down to our children. Like me and crocheting or quilting. When my children and I begin talking about sewing, quilting or crocheting I always tell my children my grandma taught me how to do this. There are so many things that my grandmother taught me that I want to one day teach my children to do. I have asked my oldest daughter (15), Are you going to sew when you get older? No! Are you going to crochet when you get older? No! Are you going to have any hobbies when you get older? No! While my youngest daughter (6) wants to do every hobby that I do. If we do not start teaching our younger generations some of our hobbies then pretty soon nothing will be homemade anymore. I want my kids to be able to say my Mom made this or my grandma made this. For my children to make things and be able to tell their children my mom taught me how to make this. To pass it down from Generation to Generation will be a wonderful memory.
