It is that time of year again when we are told that we should do things to change ourselves or things around us for the better.
The most common New Year’s resolutions are to lose weight and to quit smoking. Other top resolutions include not drinking, spending more time with your loved ones, getting rid of clutter, exercising more, becoming debt-free and learning new things.
The New Year’s resolution tradition started way back in the time of the Babylonians, approximately 4000 years ago. Ever since then people make them year after year, but are often not successful in accomplishing them.
Have you decided what New Year’s resolutions you will make this year? A good way to be successful in achieving your New Year’s goals is to do it with someone. Since so many people have common goals it should be easy to find someone who is striving for the same thing that you are.
A group effort is the best way to accomplish your goals. The support system that is maintained in a group gives us courage and accountability. You know that if you mess up there will be someone there who will get you back on the right path. You will not be alone in your efforts, which will give you a better chance at achieving them.
Find a New Year’s resolution buddy for 2010 and accomplish your goals for the upcoming year.
